For 25 years, I worked as a qualified Architect, painting for pleasure whenever I could. I even dabbled in set design for theatre productions, adding a creative twist to my career. When I decided to leave my job to care for my dad, who had Alzheimer’s, painting became my way to destress and brought peace and calm during a tough time. My sunflower painting, inspired by Van Gogh, and the encouragement of my loyal friends, led me to consider transitioning from Architect to full-time Artist. And the rest, as they say, is history!
The start of 2025 was when I really set my New Year's Resolution to fully commit to a career as an Artist. After dabbling with art of many genres and mediums I finally narrowed it down to what I truly love about art. My precision and attention to detail, so crucial for an Architect, was a trait that was never going to leave me! Discovering animal eyes allowed me to combine that detail with my love of creating art. Here's to starting the next exciting phase of my life.
These days, I paint almost every day, balancing my time as a carer, wife, and mum. My home studio is my happy place, filled with natural light streaming in from all directions. I often lose myself in the joy of creation, sometimes for hours, as the world outside drifts away.
If my artwork resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you! Whether you're interested in a commission or simply want to learn more about my work, feel free to reach out.
